We recommend storing your bags at Amtrak’s San Jose Diridon Station. If you’re a passenger, you can store them for free. If not, you’ll have to pay a $20 fee that includes up to 24 hours of storage.

First, if you want to explore more than just San Jose itself, we recommend renting a car for the day. That way you have the freedom to come and go as you please, and you can store your luggage in the safety of your locked trunk.
Secondly, you could contact a few of the hotels in the area to see if they would be willing to store your luggage for you. Some hotels provide this service even if you’re not a guest, especially if you’re a member of their rewards program. If you find a hotel that is willing to provide this service, remember to tip the bellhop or the front desk person who helped you out of courtesy.
