How to Store Your Baggage at YVR Airport or the Port of Vancouver?

Baggage storage near YVR Airport

If you’ve just flown into Vancouver, then you’re probably pretty excited to get out and explore both the natural and manmade beauty that surrounds the city.

And luckily, there’s a place to store your luggage at the Vancouver airport - CDS Baggage!

In fact, CDS has two locations. The first is located in the international terminal before security, and the second is located before the domestic terminal (also before security.) Both are on the second level. Their rates start at $5 per bag.
For many U.S. airports, airport storage lockers are a thing of the past. However, that’s not as true in Canada, and luckily, the Vancouver airport will keep luggage while you explore!

We’ve already recommended CDS Ltd. baggage services at the Vancouver airport, and stand by that recommendation. CDS baggage rates are calculated based on the size of the bag, and start at $5 per 24 hours. (Note: CDS was once called Priority Baggage Service Vancouver. If you hear both names, know that they are the same company.)

Luckily, CDS makes Vancouver airport luggage storage rates very affordable, even if you’re not storing your bag for the entire 24 hours. Stash your bag, then get out there and explore!

Here’s a Vancouver airport map, in case you need it to find your way around.

Name: CDS Baggage

Price: Starting at $5 per bag

Baggage storage near the Port of Vancouver Cruise Terminal

Many people arrive in Vancouver via water transportation. And if you’re disembarking at Canada Place, luggage storage may be one of your top concerns.

Luckily, there is a CDS Baggage at Vancouver Cruise Terminal! They have similar pricing as their airport location (starting at $5 per 24 hours and calculated based on the bag’s size.) This is a seasonal location, and is open from May until the end of September. They will only store luggage for cruise passengers.

We hear a lot of questions about the cruise terminal, and want to help our fellow travelers navigate it successfully. Here are the answers to some common ones:

What’s the taxi fare from Vancouver airport to the cruise terminal?

On average, plan to spend about $42 if you’re taking the taxi from the airport to the cruise terminal. It’s about 15.4 km from the Vancouver airport to Canada Place cruise terminal.

How far is it from the Vancouver cruise port to Seattle airport?

By plane, it’s about 55 minutes. If you’re traveling by land, the fastest way is via I-5 S, which will take you around 3 hours. Be sure to build in extra time to cross the border!

Vancouver: Where Art and Beauty Thrive

Surrounded by beautiful mountains and deep blue seas, it’s no wonder that Vancouver is a popular filming location for movies of all kinds. But that’s not all it’s known for.

Vancouver is one of British Columbia’s largest and most diverse cities, giving rise to its thriving arts culture. Tourists flock to the area to enjoy its local art and live music. And if you’re an outdoors person, the area offers amazing opportunities for camping, hiking, fishing, boating, and more! No doubt about it: there’s something for everyone to enjoy here.

A Crash Course in Vancouver Travel

First, remember an umbrella! Vancouver is rainy for most of the year, so if you want to stay dry, you’d better bring one with you or be prepared to buy one.

Second, if you’re planning on enjoying an alcoholic drink, be ready to show two forms of I.D. Vancouver’s really cracking down on illegal drinking, so be aware of that before ordering your favorite beverage.

Finally, most restaurants and bars expect at least at 15% tip - and so will your taxi drivers if you choose to take a taxi for transportation. And if you’re taking the bus, make sure you have plenty of Canadian coins on hand, because they only accept exact change for fares.

Things to Do in Vancouver

If you’ve got the time, then Stanley Park is a must-see! Beautiful, green trails are just the beginning of what this big park has to offer. Enjoy outdoor artwork, playgrounds for the kids, picturesque beaches, and even Canada’s largest aquarium - all within the boundaries of this well-maintained, lovely park.

Canada Place and Gastown also offer a taste of Vancouver’s charm, and are both great places for a leisurely stroll. Finally, enjoy the breathtaking view from the top of the Vancouver Seawall, where you can see all of the natural and manmade beauty that surrounds the city. Bring a picnic!

Places To Eat

Because of its seaside location, it should be no surprise that Vancouver is known for its amazing seafood - particularly its sushi. If you’re craving fine seafood, head to either Blue Water Cafe or Bishops. The delicious food and upscale ambiance of these restaurants will amaze you!

If you still want great seafood but don’t want to spend quite that much, we suggest Momo Sushi or Kishimoto Japanese Kitchen.

Other great non-seafood options include Italia Bella Bar & Grill Restaurant, Chongqing, and The Keg Steakhouse.
